Mrs. Arvizzigno – Has a Masters in Counseling and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She also has a private practice in Westfield where she sees clients in the evenings and in the summer. Mrs. Arvizzigno is completing her 4th year here at Schor Middle School. She has two young adult daughters who recently graduated from college.
School counselors are highly educated, professionally certified individuals who help students succeed in school. They address the personal, social and emotional development of students.
The goal of the school counseling program is to be comprehensive in scope, preventive in design and developmental in nature. Effective school counseling programs are a collaborative effort between the school counselors, families, community, teachers, administrators and the students.
Our counselors spend their time doing individual and group counseling, managing 504 plans, participating with the I&RS Committee, consulting with teachers and parents, conducting special programs like week of respect and school violence prevention, making outside referrals for families, conducting conflict resolution sessions with students, doing suicide and threat assessments, and scheduling and testing of students.
Our counselors are here to assist you and your child with any issues or concerns that you may be having. Please reach out to them for support.
