Purchasing a good quality instrument
Middle School string players are working to learn and master the basics of stringed instrument playing, including fingering, bowing, rhythm, dynamics, note reading and tone production. They require an instrument that possesses a pleasing tone, balanced response, contrasts in dynamic range (volume) and forgiveness of general response to help instill confidence in an inexperienced player.

Please refrain from purchasing items on Ebay, or other websites where they sell shiny, cheaply made instruments. Many times these instruments are made with inferior wood and cheaply made parts. In addition, the set up is incorrect which makes tuning impossible. It also makes playing difficult for the student.
